Lucian follows the given instructions to arrive at the Angels Haven. The Inn was huge several stories high, meant for the dignitaries that visited the religious capital of the world, and resembled a luxurious stay at the estate of the richest Emperor. Kept immaculately clean and decorated with some of the best art in the world. Talyun porcelian, Seanchan silk, Dwarven carved statues, Enron's finest nature elven paintings decorated the loby while a small band of minsterels played a ballad Lucian did not recognize but was impressed by, though he was not a one to enjoy sonnets or music. Asking an attendent in the loby, "I'm Lucian and was suppose ot meet someone here." "Of course," he replies, "There is a conference room to the left of the loby here a Lord Skylar Haws is waiting for you." Giving a polite thank you and nod the Paladin quickly moved on towards his meeting.
The scent of fine roast mutton and ginger spice commonly used to give the bland Genevan tea a kick worth drinking filled the room. Also filling the room was a varied collection of people-Paladins in their sparkling armor, priests in their meek robes, citizens in the best tunic's they could afford, merchants in fine Talyun silk jackets, ambassoders and soliders all. "Welcome Lucian." A broad shouldered man about 32 calls out. He has a long blue cape that wraps around his large frame and just misses the floor but leaves his Isle Paladin armor gleaming and exposed, his right shoulder armor plate carries the holy symbol of his diety as do all the Paladin's to show their faith. His symbol to Aries--God of war. He speaks from behind a well trimmed goti, "Master Lucian, hero of the day. My friends and brothers as we celebrate the victory over the doomguard and the triumph of the Two Fronts war we must honor the man pivotal in that victory. He who single handedly bested Fu Mei in epic one on one combat. The gods sent you and I thank them, and thank you."
Uncertanty entered Lucian's mind as he contemplated what to say. The truth makes me look like a monster though it was the best decision. To go along with this facade may give them spirit to fight on. Is it so wrong to let people be inspired? What harm could come from that? "That's not the case my Lord. . ." Swallowing his pride he recounts the entire experience and awaits the judgement of his peers. How many more times must I endure the telling of this story? To his dismay the room filled with cheering and Lord Haws' face beams with joy. He turns to the priest to Logar which spoke to Lucian earlier that day and says, "You were right he is perfect, exactly what the Isle needs." Turning his attention back to the confused Paladin. "I should tell you why you're here. This is the Order of Light. Lord Logar Mogath founded this Island for one purpose, the only purpose for which that great man lived -- To eliminate evil in all of its forms through all the multiverse. The Isle of the Winds was created by his forsight and faith as a haven against evil and a single point where evil could not dwell. The intent was not to stop there but to move out combing the world for all traces of those who would harm the innocent and eliminate it. He believed as we do, as you do, that this war between good and evil could be won. We only have to have the faith to do what is necessary. Evil should not be negotiated with or tolerated. Too often their games and tricks allow them to continue their devious ways. You took a stand. You saved lives and won a war that was unwinable. You did so by living by the princibles of this order. We are the Order of Light. While the rest of the world including the Isle and Geneva have grown lax in their commitment to fulfill Lord Mogath's commision we will not. When we swear to fight for the Isle and make our covenants to defend the innocent, we take a greater responsibility than most realize, and today are surrounded by hypocrits. I would invite you into this order that I lead to fight the war against evil the way it was intended. You have the spirit and the strength. Your vows are this - to eliminate evil in any of its forms regardless of its source, to place the welfare of the Order above the welfare of yourself, to fulfil Lord Mogath's commision, to never intake a substance that will dull your senses, and to obey the orders of your superiours in this order without question or hesitation. What say you Lucian, enter a brotherhood that understands you, a brotherhood where you may fulfill the greatest good?"
Lucian takes a deep breath, "If this be Zues's will? I live only to prevent the harming of the innocent and to right the wrongs of the wicked. If this order does that then I am honored to be a part of it." Kneeling before Lord Haws, Lucian takes his holy symbol in his left hand and presses it to the ground touching the hilt of his mace he says in reverent prayer. "I vow to eliminate evil in any of its forms regardless of its source, to place the welfare of the Order above the welfare of yourself, to fulfil Lord Mogath's commision, to never intake a substance that will dull your senses, and to obey the orders of your superiours in this order without question or hesitation."
"Welcome to the Order of Light!" Lucian was almost carried away by their cheers.
